Basel Zaraa — ‘Dear Laila’
In the intimate installation ‘Dear Laila’, Basel Zaraa tells the story of his displaced Palestinian family. Basel made a scale model of the house from his childhood in the Yarmouk refugee camp for Palestinians in Damascus. In ‘Dear Laila’, this place — which has since been destroyed — comes back to life through memories and tactile details.

Manoeuvre and Splinter vzw brought people together over the past few months for a solidarity embroidery in support of the victims in Gaza. Every Sunday of Building Castles in the Sky, you will continue working on the embroidery project that originated during the Palestine Café.
