Outside, crucifixes fall like rain, the ground is radioactive, the seven seas burn, and legions of mole men make the continent unsafe at night. Inside, a select few find themselves in The Bunker, where His Royal Highness “Beire Pap” rules with a scepter made of ham on the bone. For ten long years, this cross-section of the population has had the time to imagine a utopia that everyone in the world can relate to. When the doors swing open, the earth will once again belong to humanity to do things differently this time, from the beginning.
Abattoir Fermé and Compagnie Cecilia join forces for “Genesis,” a turbulent and baroque spectacle on location. It’s about creativity, good intentions, bad people, (concrete) decay, and the construction of an apartment building. It explores the walls, the floors, the architect, the contractor, and the foundations. It delves into the trunk moving into the flats, a toad becoming king, fly meat, tasty juice, and the need for a jacket when evening falls because it gets cold so quickly. Brrrr.
With no fewer than 15 actors on stage, “Genesis” will be a unique fusion of the acting talents from Compagnie Cecilia and Abattoir Fermé.
